Education Returns to the Alma Mater

When we never thought it  possible, the principal of Mungret Community College, Liam O’Mahoney,  has just advised us that the college has re-opened for education on the east wing. They have moved into the bottom floor this month and attached are some photographs which show life back in the auld building. Liam hopes that more classes will be moved into the top floors in the next six months whilst they await their new building situated on the old farm site. Liam is of the opinion that when they eventually move there end of 2022 the rooms they occupy presently in the college will continue to be used for education.

This is fantastic news for us and great credit should go to Tom Cassidy of Limerick County Council who pioneered the return of education to this section of the college and delivered on the promise, that they would achieve this, when we did a tour of the grounds last year.

Liam is extending an open invitation to any past pupil who is in the area to call into them to look at the new set up.
