Mungret Dinner 2020 Cancellation

Dear Colleagues,

The council regrets to advise that this year’s annual dinner and golf outing has been cancelled.

In light of the governments extension of restrictions it was not possible for us to guarantee that the event would take place if that changed.

This is the first time in our memory that we had to cancel our annual event but it will allow us plenty of time to recharge the batteries. It was also our wish that every past pupil and their families would continue to be safe and healthy which is another underlining consideration.

The good news is that we have provisionally set a date for next year which we would ask you to place in your diaries.
The event will hopefully resume  again in Limerick on Friday the 10th Sept 2021.

We are very sorry and disappointed  that the class of 1970 will lose out on their 50th anniversary reunion but would hope that they can celebrate it with the class of 1971 next year.

We are pleased to advise that our new president for next year Garrett Barry(captain of the college 1963) will take over his duties from outgoing president Willie Nash next month.

The council would like to take this opportunity to thank Willie for his tremendous support throughout the last year.

Finally, we are also pleased to advise that our annual bursary to Mungret Community College will be provided again this year and arrangements will be made next month to facilitate this.

To you and all your families continue to stay safe and look after one another.
